Het onderzoek
Het doel van dit project is om een cross-culturele emotieherkenningstest na te bootsen in virtual reality. Dit in de hoop dat de aanpasbare omgeving zodanig kan worden gemanipuleerd dat de sociale omgeving met avatars overeenkomt met de cultuur van het individu dat wordt beoordeeld.
Dit is om te onderzoeken of een traditionele taak vervangen kan worden door virtual reality. En om te beoordelen of deze taak bruikbaar is in multiculturele populaties.

Over mij
Als GZ-psycholoog op de afdeling Neuropsychologie probeer ik veranderingen in het denken te meten die optreden na beschadiging van de hersenen. Zo gebruik ik bijvoorbeeld geheugentests om te kijken of mensen informatie nog goed kunnen onthouden.
Mijn onderzoek richt zich vooral op diagnostiek bij en zorg voor mensen met een diverse achtergrond op het gebied van taal, cultuur en/of opleiding, zoals mensen die niet goed kunnen lezen/schrijven en mensen met een migratieachtergrond.

Over mij
Mijn onderzoeksdoelen zijn gericht op het verkleinen van de kloof in beschikbare middelen voor cultureel, taalkundig en onderwijskundig diverse populaties. Dit doe ik door onderzoek te doen naar de ontwikkeling van neuropsychologische tests die beter aansluiten bij deze diverse groepen.
